Well,
by now you may have guessed that I liked comic book heroes as a
kid. I really liked this costume. It was an early eighties kind
of thing. You may not like it - but the girls in the background
did. I thought that I was pretty cool, or hot,
or phat, maybe I was dope (or is that pdope). I
don't get the language that kids use today. Do you think that
now that I am fat and dopey, everyone will want to be like me?
Next
I took a volunteer from a watermelon patch and tied it to a
rope. I let someone examine the ropes to make sure that they had
no steel cables running through them. Then I let them pick which
one to use on the watermelon and which one for me. The idea was
to test the rope's burn time by running it up and waiting for it
to fall. It took about four minutes. It fell so fast and
splattered so far that the camera man missed the whole thing. So
I don't get to show you a splattering melon like Dave Letterman
used to do on his show.
